COS Environmental was founded by Craig Smith. A lifetime resident of Frederick County Maryland, Craig received his Bachelors in Biology from UMBC and Masters of Science in Environmental Biology from Hood College.  Craig worked in research laboratories at  Fort Detrick for over 6 years before entering the real estate industry in 2004.  Craig is a licensed real estate agent and member of the National Association of Realtors, Maryland Association of Realtors and Frederick County Association of Realtors.  He is certified through the National Radon Proficiency Program (NRPP) to provide Radon testing services and specializes in Radon screening for real estate transactions.  Craig has also been a member of the American Association of Radon Scientists and Technologists (AARST). In addition COS Environmental/Craig are also accredited through the Maryland Department of Environment (MDE) as a visual lead inspector providing Full and Modified Risk Reduction for rental properties.
